What is anime and manga?

Anime is Japanese animation or simply put the Japanese version of cartoons while manga is the Japanese version of comics. They have gained massive international popularity over the years. Probably the best known examples would be Pokemon, Doraemon, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Hana Kimi and Katekyo Hitman Reborn.

Animes and mangas can be split into many categories such as action-adventure,romance,comedy,sports, sci-fi,horror,fantasy, slice-of life, sports, hictorical and so on.
